While it is not our objective to be the largest company in the areas we provide services in, we endeavour to be the best. We are interested in challenging projects with competent team members. We will bring to the project all of the resources necessary to ensure that our customer receives the maximum value for each rand invested in the project.

All our projects, whether it be large or small, will be managed under the direct supervision of one of the company’s principals.

Our Expert Team
Electrorig has a staff contingent exceeding 400 that includes highly qualified and experienced electricians, technicians and installers. We supplement our work force with the use of contract labour as projects may require it.
Our stance on compliance
B-BBEE
Electrorig is a Level One B-BBEE contributor through company ownership. In addition, our procurement policy ensures that where possible, materials and equipment are sourced from SMME’s and B-BBEE certified providers.
We are driven by the potential to be harnessed through celebrating diversity and incorporating enablement into our business philosophy. The broad-based nature of empowerment in South Africa presents and effective solution to addressing historic economic and social inequalities, and to this end we support the B-BBEE Act and the Codes of Good Practice for B-BBEE.
Our Level 1 status positions us as a service provider of choice for our customers, who like us, are actively seeking to do business with empowered companies. This means that our customers are now entitled to 135% BEE procurement claim of each Rand spent with us.
Health & Safety
Employee safety and wellbeing is of critical importance to us, thus we go to great lengths to make sure that our employees are equipped with the correct and required PPE (personal protective equipment). With risks such as materials falling from great heights, dust and noise pollution always present, the site environment poses constant potential health threats.
Electrorig is dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment and constant enhancement with clear and non-negotiable standards and procedures. Our approach goes further than achieving our safety objectives with a zero-injury objective.
We proactively nurture a safe working environment at all the sites we manage and improve the welfare of our employees and that of the communities within our areas of work. We are dedicated to complying with all the relevant legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1193 and all its associated regulations, South African National Standard SANS 10142-1, and current environmental laws and regulations.
Compliance with legislation is vital to us to the degree that it provides a minimum standard for the development of our systems and procedures. We frequently evaluate legislative changes and where requisite address new requirements. We also offer rigorous on-going training to employees to ensure they are informed of the full extent of their health and safety obligations.
Environment
At Electrorig, we seek to encourage and defend the efficient use of the world’s resources without harm to its inhabitants. We recognise that our day-to-day operations result in emissions and the generation of waste materials. It is our intention to conform to legislation and other requirements, continue to minimise the environmental impacts of our activity and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
We are dedicated to promoting the continuous reduction of our environmental footprint and to the prevention of pollution through the operations and processes of our company. We endeavour to operate our company in an environmentally sustainable manner.
- We will seek to use energy saving materials in all operations, re-use rather than dispose whenever possible and promote recycling and the use of recycled materials where possible.
- We will continuously influence our major suppliers to minimise the negative impact of their operations on the environment.
- Where possible we will reduce the level of harmful emissions.
- We will endeavour to site our structures so that we minimise visual, noise and other impacts on the local environment.
We undertake to comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations concerning our activities whilst continuing to deliver quality projects efficiently, cost effectively and with minimum disruption to the environment.
Regulatory Compliant
We are a registered private company and abide by all the regulations of The Companies Act of 2008. We are compliant
with all SARS tax requisites, we’re VAT registered and we maintain a positive tax clearance credence.
Electrorig is duly registered with the Department of Labour (annual registrations), and we have an Installation Electrician (Wireman’s licence) who is also registered with the DOL. We also are the members of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and Electrical Conformance Board (ECB) of South Africa. All materials used are SABS approved and will include a manufacturer’s guarantee as required by the Consumer Protection Act.
Coupled to this, we are also registered at the CIDB for both construction (EP) and facilities (EB). All of these credentials contribute to the element of comfort in customers dealing with us, as we are duly trained and skilled, and thus guarantee our work.
